STYLE SNAPSHOTS | VOL. XIV

Due to the surprising (but very welcome) mini heatwave in Hamburg, I was in desperate need of a cool and breezy summer look that I could just throw together while still looking as chic as possible in the 36 degree soaring temperatures.

Fortunately, this bright and airy oversized Frankie Shop shirt arrived just in time and is the perfect layering piece to pair with my white One Teaspoon denim shorts and Jacquemus bralette. As you can imagine, this shirt along with the matching shorts, have been one of their bestselling sets! Although the ‘island green’ is currently sold out, are lots of other gorgeous colours to choose from – you can check out all the other options here.

Pink and green is a firm fave summer colour combo of mine and I recently added THE most amazing mules by The Attico to my wardrobe which I was so excited to style with some new looks! The heel is uniquely angular which adds just the right amount of edge to offset the hot pink and makes them super comfortable. To complement this geometric element, I also added my Valentino Garavani Roman stud bag. What do you guys think of this pairing?

CHANEL COCO BEACH

CHANEL COCO BEACH

There’s nothing I love to wear and style more during the summer than swimsuits. There is something so stylish and timeless about a one-piece for the beach, especially when it’s Chanel! I was really excited to wear and shoot two incredible Chanel pieces from the Chanel Coco Beach 2021 collection which is described as an “easy-to-wear collection infused with sunshine” and became available on the 14th of June, so don’t miss your chance to add one of their stunning pieces to your summer 2021 holiday wardrobe! 🙂 You can find the beautiful campaign imagined by Virginie Viard starring singer and Chanel ambassador Angèle: here.

Even though the two looks I wore from the SS21 #CHANELCocoBeach collection are completely different, they are both so chic (in true Chanel style!). Personally, I think they can be worn effortlessly, light and free for the beach or you can style them up as I did when taking pictures in our hotel with the stunning Ibiza backdrop.

For the first look, I decided to keep things minimal and monochrome, in keeping with the sleek design of this one-shouldered black swimsuit. Here, I added my Chanel statement logo earrings, bucket hat and oversized sunnies. This sunglass style is named the ‘butterfly’ and actually has tiny sequins on the frames which sparkle when the sunlight catches them.

I also loved experimenting with the styling of my belt bag for this outfit. If you look closely, you may be able to see that these are actually two separate Chanel pieces: my tweed belt bag which I unclipped from its original leather belt and added to my crystal diamante skinny logo belt. I think it worked out so well as the black swimsuit is quite feminine given the bow detail, so the original block-coloured belt bag could have been too heavy for the look on its own. What do you guys think?

The second swimsuit look I styled was this summer cut-out printed one in a navy and white colourway. For casual day trips out, I would pair this with white distressed denim shorts and layer with an oversized white shirt. I love how the print incorporates not only the interlocking ‘CC’ logo but also the iconic Chanel camellia flower, so there are multiple special details that catch your eye.

Let me know which of the Chanel Coco Beach pieces is your favourite! xx Leonie

IBIZA SERIES | SUMMER SUIT STYLING

IBIZA SERIES | SUMMER SUIT STYLING

I am a huge suit advocate, whatever the occasion – they are absolutely not just meant for the office! A well-tailored set can work wonders for your wardrobe and brings with it endless styling opportunities in that it can be work together or as separate pieces. While bringing a suit on holiday may not seem like an obvious choice, you should definitely consider linen and lightweight cotton options

At the very least, pack a blazer! They’re essential for dressing up any casual vacation outfits or can easily be thrown on over a slip dress if you want to spontaneously head out to a slightly more formal restaurant.

For Ibiza, I packed a fresh and fun green Raquette suit that blended in seamlessly with the surrounding Balearic scenery. The stunning double-breasted blazer has a classic silhouette from the front, featuring statement peaked lapels, yet has a surprising back detail comprised of buckles and cut-outs. The unique buckles are so eyecatching and add just the right amount of edge to this mint set, giving it the perfect contemporary twist.

The matching flared suit trousers are the perfect length to wear with heels as they just skim the ground, elongating the legs (which is always a bonus!). I would even wear these without the blazer and style with a chic crop top for the daytime, some Fendi sandals and a classic LOEWE basket bag.

To pop against the green, I decided to add touches of yellow courtesy of my Bottega Veneta heels and pouch bag. Although they are slightly different yellow tones, they still complement one another and lift the overall colour palette for a chic, almost tropical summery vibe.

What do you think of this lemon and lime infused outfit? I’ve also included some alternatives options below in case you wanted to recreate the look yourself. 🙂

Alex & I decided to spend yesterday on a boat and we headed to Formentera for the very first time. I’ve seen pictures of it in the past and can’t believe that we haven’t been before as it is absolutely breathtaking! It was one of my fave days of the whole vacation so far; not only was it beautiful but it was just so relaxing to while away the hours enjoying the sunshine, the glittering ocean and each others’ company. As we were out all day I wanted to make sure we were prepared for anything and my Fendi tote bag was a lifesaver! If you’re looking for a large travel bag I highly recommend it – it’s both functional and stylish… what more could you want?!

I went for a colourful outfit, wearing my hot pink Jacquemus swimsuit and turquoise Chanel bucket hat. I didn’t want to catch too much sun so a hat was essential, plus it matched with the surrounding turquoise water! As we also chose to hop on and off board to explore some of the beaches town, I wanted to be comfortable and cool. Having a pair of wide-leg trousers like this pair from Savannah Morrow the label are great as they won’t stick to your sunscreen, they’re lightweight and easy to throw back into your bag.

I also like to take something with me to cover up my shoulders with in case the sun gets a little too much or if it’s a bit too windy and a loose-fitting white shirt is perfect for this. It’s also versatile to style as it can be easily tied at the waist and the sleeves rolled up for that effortlessly chic throw-on look. Shirts like this don’t need to be super expensive, there are some great options available like this Stradivarius oversized cotton poplin option.

My Hermes Oran sandals have also made a re-appearance this summer as they’re my forever become go-to’s during the summer. They need a little wearing in to reach optimum comfort levels but they come in a range of different colourways and prints, and I’ve recently seen that they now do a pretty laser-cut style which is really cute. Take a look here for all available pairs. 🙂

I brought some incredible Chanel pieces with me to Ibiza and have been so excited to shoot them, especially now that the sun is finally shining here. We moved hotels at the weekend and have a wonderfully cinematic view from our room which felt like the perfect setting for an impromptu shoot.

I always love to layer when styling Chanel and their swimsuits are no different. These two are from the SS21 Coco Beach collection and though they are completely different, they are both so chic (in true Chanel style!).
