Following my trend overview from Milan Fashion Week, I wanted to also share with you some of the hottest trends spotted on the catwalks of Paris.

COLOURED TIGHTS

Bold colours are always impactful but I found it interesting to see how the subtle introduction of coloured tights added a whole new dimension to this season’s collections such as Marine Serre and Koche.

BLACK AND WHITE

Monochromatic looks will never go out of style and classic black and white looks are reimagined year after year. This season’s runways saw varied necklines and layered jewellery for a more modern and fresh approach.

SPARKLES

Glittering styled used to be reserved just for the evening but I’m so happy to see more designers embracing extra sparkle for daywear. Coperni, Stella McCartney and Dior perfectly demonstrated the different ways you incorporate extra glamour into your own wardrobe.

SLOUCHY SUITS

I was beyond thrilled to see a continuation of oversized suits this season, taking power dressing to new heights. I particularly love this bold cornflower blue Stella McCartney suit pictured below, along with Louis Vuitton’s new take on the tailored tuxedo-style jacket.

CAPES

Capes have been made cool again through the use of intricate tailoring techniques, embellishments and contemporary fabrications such as this latex Andreas Kronthaler for Vivienne Westwood version.

THE ‘NEW’ TRENCH

The trench coat is a timeless classic that has long been synonymous with the iconic Burberry trench but it’s great to see other designers incorporating such a strong staple into their collections and putting their own spin on things such as LOEWE’s unconventional silhouettes and Alexander McQueen’s dramatic sleeves.
